Kebab

I love kebabs. There, I said it. And not US kebabs which are never the right thing. European ones. I first had a kebab back in ’88 in Bremen. Had never heard of such a thing but as drunk food goes it might be the best. When we lived in Europe the kebab was my guilty pleasure. This is a fine example of a kebab in Graz. Not as good as the Parisian version, better than Zürich’s though.

I hate being sick

I managed to pick up the cold/flu/cough/headache thing that was going around work last week. I should have immediately went into rest mode but I didn’t, I kept going. Now I have a nice little nagging cough settling in.

While it’s true that I have been healthier since turning to primal/paleo it hasn’t been perfect. In the past few years as I lived in Paris and took crowded mass transit I went through a petri dish of germs all the time. Couple that with trans-Atlantic flights and I was walking bomb of all of the cold viruses around the world, my immune system was on DefCon 5 all the time. Since moving back to the Northwest and the car culture and everything this just isn’t true. I get colds more often.

I will point out some very good-looking comfort foods today, http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-comfort-foods/. The meatloaf looks pretty good, I will try that soon since Whole Foods is doing a great job stocking grass fed ground beef lately.
