Amazon Kindle: Things Can Only Get Feta: Two journalists and their crazy dog living through the Greek crisis
I was reading this book and came across the word “swithering”. My Kindle dictionary was stumped as was Wikipedia.
Thankfully Google was able to turn up a lovely definition:
swither v. to be uncertain or perplexed about what to do or choose; doubt; hesitate; dither
What a lovely new word! Apparently this is common in Scottish dialects but it’s absolutely unknown in American dialects. Wonderful, my new goal is to move this to the U.S. shores in conversations.
