I had a tumblog for many months tracking my progress. I even had a friend co-posting. The problems were very simple:
1. Tumblr doesn’t support some basic HTML like tables. If we want a table with weights for instance, no dice.
2. Tumblr didn’t support setting a default tumblog. It still doesn’t.
So my workaround at the time was fairly simple: move to Posterous. Works great, does what I need. But here is the rub: the audience over on Posterous just isn’t as big as what we were building on Tumblr. Which means anything we do which is in fact useful never gets read. So now I am restarting this tumblog and we’ll cross-post (and monitor!) this log too.
